Relación del plano de Frankfurt y la horizontal verdadera, en fotografías en posición natural de cabeza y radiografías laterales de cráneo.

Resumen
Objetivo: Determinar cuál es la relación entre el plano de Frankfurt y la horizontal verdadera, en fotografías y radiografías laterales de cráneo en posición natural de cabeza. Material y métodos: la muestra fue de 123 casos, en los que se utilizaron las fotografías y las radiografías laterales de cráneo en las que se posiciono el paciente en posición natural de cabeza. El análisis fotográfico y radiográfico fue realizado por un único investigador, en el programa Adobe Photoshop CS6®. Para el registro de los datos y la estadística descriptiva se utilizó una hoja del programa Microsoft office Excel. Las pruebas de t de Student se hicieron en el programa Statcalc. Resultados: Los planos de Frankfurt de la fotografía y la radiografía lateral de cráneo presentaron valores muy similares, por lo que no se encontraron diferencias estadísticas significativas entre ellas, pero al comparar con la horizontal verdadera si hay diferencias estadísticas significativas. Los valores de la diferencia entre el plano de Frankurt y la horizontal verdadera en las fotografías y las radiografías laterales de cráneo. Conclusión: El plano de Frankfurt no presento variaciones significativas entre las fotografías y las radiografías.

Abstract
Objective: Determine the relationship between the Frankfurt plane and the true horizontal, in photographs and lateral x-rays of the skull in a natural head position.Material and methods: the sample consisted of 123 cases, in which photographs and lateral skull x-rays were used in which the patient was positioned in a natural head position. The photographic and radiographic analysis was carried out by a single researcher, in the Adobe Photoshop CS6® program. A Microsoft Office Excel program sheet was used to record the data and descriptive statistics. Student’s t tests were performed in the Statcalc program. Results: The Frankfurt planes of the photograph and the lateral skull x-ray presented very similar values, so no significant statistical differences were found between them, but when compared with the true horizontal there were significant statistical differences. The values ​​of the difference between the Frankurt plane and the true horizontal in photographs and lateral skull radiographs. Conclusion: The Frankfurt map did not present significant variations between the photographs and the x-rays.
